The Healthy Project
An end-to-end nutrition platform for The Healthy Project by Chef MD. Assessments, consultation booking, professional review, personalized meal plans, and food diaries connect clients with dietitians, while kitchen workflows support full-service meal programs.

What it is
The Healthy Project is Chef MD's platform for nutrition consultations with registered nutritionist-dietitians. A client completes an assessment, pays the consultation fee, and books a slot from a dietitian's calendar. The dietitian prepares a diet prescription, a food exchange table, and a one-day sample menu, and a supervising auditor approves them before they reach the client. After a one-hour video consultation, clients can join a self-prep or full-service program, keep a daily food diary, and, on full service, have their meals prepared by the program's kitchens.
What I built
I was the top contributor on a small team and owned the platform and billing side: payments, pricing, payouts, reports, email, and the delivery pipeline.
- A checkout that can't double-charge. A custom in-app checkout on Xendit's Payments API with cards and saved cards, GCash and other e-wallets, QR Ph, and bank debit. Invoices are idempotent, an open payment is reused instead of creating a second one, and the server decides whether a visit is a first consultation, a follow-up, or a re-consult, so the price never comes from the browser.
- Receipts and refunds on the record. Numbered official receipts are issued automatically when a payment lands, and refunds go back through the provider. A discounted charge keeps the list price behind it, so a senior or PWD discount is shown on every receipt and payout it touches instead of quietly shrinking the numbers.
- Paying the professionals. Each charge is split into revenue shares for the dietitian, the reviewing auditor, and the kitchen, with therapeutic add-ons carved out first so the people doing the extra clinical work are paid for it. Shares vest only once the payment reconciles, payouts go out through Xendit with the transfer fee shared with the payee, every payout explains its own figures, and payees are emailed only when their money is actually stuck.
- Pricing that is safe to change. Prices are versioned, the admin pricing page shows the breakdown behind every figure, and a revenue playground models a change before it goes live.
- Reports and an audit trail. A live analytics module behind the admin and auditor reports, branded PDF exports, transactional emails for each step of the client journey, and a system log that captures every workflow event.
- An interface for older clients. An age-inclusive pass over the client dashboards with larger, more legible type, a food diary calendar that labels each day's status in words, and calmer, clearer surfaces.
- The delivery pipeline. CI, deploys, and a migration check that compares every pull request against its base branch, with the API on Railway and the web app on Vercel.
